Hello and thank you for visiting our website.  I am Brian Anthony Morris and I am a post-conviction and sentencing review specialist. I have over 25 years’ experience focusing on prisoners’ rights, criminal appeals, post-conviction remedies, challenging prior convictions, sentence reductions, paroles and helping those incarcerated make the best of their situation.  I consider myself a post-conviction specialist for a reason: I had a big motivator.

If you are incarcerated or facing incarceration, I have been there.  I worked as a senior law clerk for approximately 25 years of my 30 calendar years incarcerated.  I dedicated my time to being the best I could be with post-conviction remedies, analyzing case law decisions to determine why the courts reached the decisions they reached, learning the nature of issues that truly warrant post-conviction relief and applying my skills and abilities to helping those around me and myself reduce the amount of time we had to serve physically incarcerated.  In the process, I pioneered and, from 1994 until 2009, authored the Notable Cases section of the Florida Prison Legal Perspectives Newsletter, a Prisoners Rights Publication from the publishing division of the Florida Prison Legal Aid Organization.

Working as a prison law clerk, I assisted well over 100 prisoners actually obtain some form of post-conviction relief, primarily a reduction in the amount of time they were physically incarcerated.  My goal with the National Post-Conviction Defense Group is to provide criminal defendant and prisoners with the best of the best in all areas of defense against the judicial and prison systems.  I strive to surround myself with those who truly have something beneficial to offer criminal defendants, prisoners and returning citizens; people who, like me, are familiar with our government and its alphabet agencies and are not afraid to advocate for the much-needed prison and judicial reform.

My experience covers both state and federal post-conviction remedies.  I also take credit for more than 40 favorable opinions in appellate courts.  Whether it’s through rdap, challenging prior convictions or whatever it takes, i want to provide my clients the best opportunities to physically serve the least amount of time possible.  I want to help my clients return to their family, friends and loved ones as quickly as possible and open doors to ensure their return is a lasting and successful one.

I am often asked exactly how many prisoners I have helped obtain an early release; my answer is always the same: “Never Enough!”  For me, every case, every quest for post-conviction relief, it’s like a big game of Chess– only the consequences are much more critical.  I survived 30 calendar years’ on the inside by keeping it real.  I take pride in the fact that my knowledge, skills and abilities, and of course my success rate in the post-conviction arena played a tremendous role in simplifying my life in prison.

If you are up against the awesome power of our government, the National Post-Conviction Defense Group is here for you.  Should you or your family, friend, or loved one face incarceration or currently be incarcerated and need assistance with any sentencing, criminal appeal, prison designation, post-conviction challenge against a current or prior conviction, correction or reduction of sentence, RDAP, probation or parole, or reentry, I believe we can help you make the best of your situation.  Contact us for a free consultation.

Thank you for considering us to assist you.

Brian discovered an erroneous calculation in my sentencing guidelines scoresheet that resulted in the court vacating a 40 year sentence all my lawyers had missed. Brian got the court to correct my sentence and I walked out of prison. Brian got the last 20 years’ and the rest of my life back for me!  He is the best….

USA v. Eugene Joseph Casternovia, No. 10-14729 (11th Cir. 2013)

The lawyer for one of my co-defendants wrote a 250-page brief which I had read and taken pages of notes on so, I was already familiar with some of the “Points of law” in my case. Brian says; “Let me see the indictment.” As he read it, although he has not seen the 250 page brief prepared by the attorneys, Brian proceeded to quote chapter and verse the points of law highlighted in the brief and he added some additional points. Brian did this within seconds, off the top of his head, having never seen the case before him, off the 3-page indictment! just Bam! Bam! Bam. Needless to say, he had my attention. In the ensuing years, he has counseled me on several occasions. His advice is both accurate and, now get this please, tempered with the experience of how the system actually works. Not the book theory but how it actually works you know, on the back side where the folks caught up never see. His assistance has saved me from going down some dead ends and convinced the federal trial court to grant me an early termination of supervision. Brian is not just competent he is a savant. Finally, his ever-present good nature does a lot to set my emotions at ease while I’m in the thick of it. If you have the opportunity to work with Brian, well sorry about the situation you're in: but please know, you are in good hands. And by the way, If he can not help, he will tell you that also. I’ve seen him turn down money rather than peddle false hope. Gino

Brian is, without a doubt, the most focused and detail oriented Paralegal we have ever known. His research skills and overall knowledge of the Legal system is top notch. Brian has "real world" experience in the trenches that is rare in the industry. I highly recommend his services in any form or capacity when navigating the Legal system.

Brian shows excess intuition in the subject of post conviction evaluations and appeals. I have the instinct to ALWAYS read and RE-read ALL documents pertaining to whatever case law, or any subject- period, but I would always trust Brian, and actually I have never felt the NEED to read- but of course I do just out of habit. He is GREAT to work with. Gives amazing results! Independent Graphic Design Professional
